and the wilds to aid and effect harmony and wellbeing.
Wishing all Balance and Blessing this Autumn Equinox.
May Mabon bring you Love and Light.
As the Moon sets, the Sun rises, so the Sun sets and the Moon rises again, it is an eternal ebb and flow, a consistent positive, reliant and comforting, the only variant is the length of time each rests above us. Now as Autumn breezes across the land. Unlike summer where the Sun dominates, or in the depth of Winter when the Moon takes the stage, here and now, they both unite, balanced and equal. Neither one outshines the other, but instead, join in a harmonious moment, which brings with it a peaceable pause, carrying a silence, that stills all in its reach, It is like the earth misses a beat and holds her breath, as the last of Summers energy spills out, ripple like, carrying a whisper of change along its path, embracing the land, turning from Summer into Autumn. So as one season gently and selflessly move out, the next delicately steps in. A little pause, as slowly but surely the nights will start to draw in, Trees will turn and shed summers abundance, and the Earth will ready itself to rest and recuperate, in the changing seasons tide.
Now the Moon has her turn of dominance, as the Sun slowly but gradually takes a step back from the stage. It is a shift that we can flow to also. There is so much to be thankful for. Despite the truly hot and dry Summer we have ridden through, Nature still proves. Blackberries, Rose Hips, Hawthorn Berries and Sloes, fill the hedgerows in spectacular clusters, Crab Apples spill off trees like a thousand tiny waterfalls, Conkers drop, exploding as they hit the ground, shiny chestnut jewels, released from there prickly packaging, delight children and enticing them to fill their pockets, of course they have to beat the squirrels, who leap precariously from branch to twig, as they seize there prize, then rush off to bury the treasure for less abundant days.
We know we live in precarious times, with so much talk of the possible outcomes from AI and robots, embedding themselves into the infrastructure of our day to day lives, it is easy to forget, that it is our own choice as to how much we embrace it, though it runs through the veins of businesses and governments, it does not have to be so ever present in our own spaces. Do not allow sensational headlines, or edited images, telling us what our, perfect shape, size, colour or latest trend should be, do not rely on chat bots and other “tools” to do day to day actions, for if we do, we are in danger of becoming the robots ourselves.
Our mind is the most amazing tool of all, the more we use it, the more it grows and explores. Remember, we have the ultimate power, to simply switch the tec off. To use our own intuition and initiative, rather than have it spoon fed to us, through someone else’s loaded algorithms.
So, take a moment, breath deeply and step back from it all. Instead turn to nature, the dependable ever-changing cycle, that provides us with all we need and more, that is our staple, our lifeline and our guide.
Look around, notice the changes, The hops that now hang heavy, their cone like pale green flowers, radiating a subtle aroma as we pass by, watch the last of the Swallows gather on telephone lines, taking a final glimpse of their nests, before heading off for the winter, keep an eye out for the retuning Geese, or the Hedgehogs as they bustle along, preparing for their winter sleep. Newts start to leave the pond, returning to their winter retreats in walls and under pots, as Spiderwebs sparkle in the morning dew.
Embrace the balance of the equinox, the seasons shift, and wonder at the Autumn Leaves as they fall so silently to the earth. Be awakened by the winds, refreshed by the rains, and inspired by the Moon. Love the change and trust yourself.
