Summer solstice Blessings
Wishing you all the vibrance of the sun, as Summers Magic fills your soul.
The world changes as the wheel turns, our senses shift and fluctuate, as nature adapts, so do we. Wherever we may be, what ever we may be experiencing, the one stable is Nature. In her truest from, So vibrant and alive at this time.
The Ox Eye Daisey stands tall and proud, gently waving back and forth in the breeze. New rose buds burst open, day by day they fill out, and deepen in shade until the petals finally separate and drift down to the earth. Sunflowers tower above most other flowers, there large bold faces following the sun as it gradually shifts from east to west.
Holly Hocks appear out of the tiniest of cracks by the wall. Fever Few, Lemon Verbena and Chamomile, stand leaf to leaf with Mint, St john’s wort and Sage.
The Lavender and Honeysuckle are full of bees, adding a gentle hum to the garden, that seems to harmonise with all the birds.
One of the most comforting experiences as this time, is simply letting your hand brush across the plants as you walk by, which sets off a chain reaction, heightening the senses and reminding us of the effect such a simple action can have, on the very core of our makeup.
Fledglings can be seen fliting from branch to branch, with all the joys of summer reflected in their mischievous playfulness. The young Squirrels chase and quarrel with each other in equal doses.
The dewy morning revels Snail trails seemingly in platoons heading for the vegetable garden, and the Blackcurrants vanish overnight, even before they are ready to collect.
Be it the willey old Fox checking out his boundaries, or the secretive Mole, for ever expanding her mysterious underground networks, or perhaps the hares surveying the hedgerow for a comfortable Shady patch, the Spider capturing the unsuspecting fly, or the Dragonflies emerging from the water. The cycle will continue. It does not matter where you are, Nature will be there even in the most unexpected of places.
This is such a comforting reminder to us that we are more than flesh and bone, more than the a physical form walking this earth, for beneath that, there is a spirit that never sleeps, an energy that is waiting to spread its wings, and escape weightlessly into the either of the universe.
This is a time of reflection, a pause in the day to day demands of life. A time when we can step back and admire all the colour, aromas and textures that nature offers, the abundance of the earth, and the promise of what it will transform into, as summer matures.
So may your Solstice be as vibrant as the hours of sunlight it brings, May Farther Sky and Mother Earth embrace the fullness of your every breath, as you inhale and exhale back without effort or thought, allow yourself time to embrace the moment.
